The trip to Croatia was amazing and the weather superb. We stayed at Port 9 which had it’s own little beach and was in a sheltered port/marina and worked well for a nice place to launch and explore from. From there we were able to paddle through a picturesque passage way surrounded with islands which were popular with the yachties! Badija, one of the islands, has a Franciscan monastry on it that you can visit, a cafe and lots of paths for walks.
The historic town of Korcula (same name as the island) and said to be the location of famous historical explorer Marco Polo’s birth, is a 20-30 min walk from the Port 9 resort and has a plethora of beautiful restaurants specialising in fresh seafood and the local delicacy of hand made macaroni.
