Kneza Beach, Korcula, CroatiaThe Main Points Location – Kneza Beach, Korcula Croatia
SUP – Own Fatstick Inflatables, 10′ Pink Panther and 10’6″ Blue Lagoon Cost – Free access to beach
Conditions – Calm salt water bay
Other users – The occasional Yacht and ferry
Entry Point – Sand and pebbly beach
Surrounding amenities/Bathrooms- there was a bistro which was closed as we were there at the very end of the summer season
Getting There – The Island of Korcula can be reached by ferry from Dubrovnik (about 2 hours) or by coach 3-3 1/2 hours. We hired a car to reach this beach and do a tour of the island. We flew to Korcula from Glasgow on a Jet2 holiday which we paid for ourselves, but I can highly recommend. We don’t get any kickbacks for endorsing these holidays. There were many spots to SUP around the island. Looking at a map and asking for locals advice we decided the north shore would be better condition wise for the day and were really happy to find this wee gem of a location. The bay itself was nice and protected, there was an island to paddle out to. We could have paddled across to the mainland but decided we preferred the bay and coast of the island. The water was absolutely crystal clear – the sort you dream about. We pretty much had the place to ourselves as there weren’t too many other people about due to it being the end of the season.
I’d definitely recommend hiring a car for at least a day to get out and see the surrounding area. It gives you so much more flexibility for finding quieter spots like this to explore.
