We were out exploring looking for somewhere new to go Stand Up Paddleboarding and happened upon this sweet spot to launch on Gare Loch. There is great access to the water from a sandy beach and it also has a car park and cafe. Gare Loch has lots to explore with a marina close by and the picturesque back drop of the village Rhu.

A Wee Blether
It was such a stunning day out on Gare Loch, the water was so still and calm I decided to have a go at some SUP yoga. I’ve been working on a Stand Up Paddleboarding Yoga Challenge for quite a while now and finally got a chance to put it to use. If you would like to join me for it there is a sign up link at the bottom of this blog post.

It was all going well until I tried a warrior pose… Even though it was a really warm day the water was really cold!! It always pays to know your conditions and always take a change of clothes.

After our Stand up Paddleboarding session on Gare Loch we stopped by the seaside town of Helensburgh on the way home for some fish and chips. Helensburgh is a really lovely town which was a favourite for holidaying Victorians and has loads of beautiful buildings and houses built by rich Glaswegian merchants. There are plenty of options for eating out and lots of interesting shops so is well worth spending some time exploring.
Definition of SUP Yoga – WET! 🙂
It was bound to happen!!
Almost disappointing if it didn’t 🙂
