Orkney is an absolutely magical place, if you haven’t been – GO!!! The ancient monuments, stone circles, huge skies and creative community make it a destination with a lot on offer. Evie Beach was one of the best places we could find for SUPing as it was nice and protected (it was pretty windy while we were there) and had a great easy access from the track to the sandy beach, and the handy nearby toilets were a bonus. There is also historic Broch of Gurness (ancient fortified tower building) nearby which is also worth a visit. There isn’t a lot of facilities at the wee town of Evie, a small shop which didn’t seem open when we were there so it might be a good idea to bring any supplies you need for your trip with you from Stromness or Kirkwall.
