Hi SUP Chicks and SUP Blokes! Are you looking for a unique and exciting way to spend your Valentine’s Day? Why not try a paddle boarding or SUP date? It’s a fun and romantic activity that will bring you and your loved one closer together. In this video, I’ll guide you on how to plan the perfect paddle boarding date for Valentine’s Day.

Choose the Location for your Valentine’s Day SUP Date

Step 1: Choose the location First you’ll need to find a good place to go paddle boarding. Look for a nearby lake, river, or ocean with calm waters and a beautiful view. You want to make sure the location you choose is safe and enjoyable for both of you. If you have more time why not take a city break or short stay a little further afield. Look for accomodation that has a close proximity to tranquil waters with some epic scenery.

Rent or bring your own SUP or Paddle board

Step 2: Rent or bring your own equipment Next, you’ll need to either rent or bring your own paddle boards and paddles and other equipment. If you’re new to paddle boarding, I recommend renting the equipment as most rental places will have all of the necessary gear and will provide instructions on how to use it. Alternatively if you have your own paddle boards you could add a touch of sparkle by adding under water lights for an evening paddle.

Plan a Valentine’s Day Paddle Boarding Picnic

Paddle boarding can be a workout, so you’ll want to have a picnic planned for after your time on the water. Pack a basket with your favorite snacks, drinks, and a blanket to sit on. You can either pack a light meal or choose a secluded area where you can enjoy a more elaborate picnic. Alternatively if the water is really calm hire a multi person SUP and have your picnic on the water.

Dress Appropriately for your Valentine’s Day SUP Date

Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and the activity. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in, and bring a change of clothes if necessary. You’ll also want to wear a life jacket or personal flotation device, especially if you’re new to paddle boarding.

Safety First

Make sure to prioritize safety when planning your paddle boarding date. Make sure you know your date’s abilities and ensure that you don’t take on a challenge they might not be capable of. Follow the rules and regulations of the waterway, and make sure to use the safety equipment provided. If you’re unsure about anything, don’t hesitate to ask a local expert or the rental company for guidance.

Set the Scene for the Perfect Valentine’s Day SUP Date

You may want to take some romantic music to play as you float along so consider purchasing a waterproof bluetooth speaker to help set the scene. Other equipment you might want to consider is a selfie stick to record your romantic paddle, and a dry bag to keep your belongings dry and safe.

Think outside the box

If you live somewhere that isn’t safe to paddle at night but have the use of a swimming pool why not turn it into a magical wonderland by using waterproof floating lights.

By following these simple steps, you can plan a memorable and enjoyable date that will bring you both closer together. So grab your paddles, find your favorite spot, and enjoy a fun and romantic day on the water!
