Hi fellow SUP Chicks and Blokes!
Thanks for visiting. I’ve created this site to share what I’ve discovered about Stand Up Paddleboarding in Scotland. Having moved here from Australia I was interested in finding the best places to SUP but discovered that there wasn’t that much information out there. So after finally deciding on a board (an inflatable Fatstick Pink Panther* for me and a Fatstick Blue Lagoon* for my SUP Bloke) I am setting about to create a place where people can come to find out more about Paddleboarding, where to go and what to expect.
Why Stand Up Paddleboard in Scotland?
Scotland has so many lochs, rivers, canals and an undulating coastline which hides beautiful secluded calm sandy bays. I really believe Scotland to be a Stand Up Paddleboarding paradise! I’ve also included experiences throughout Europe and the rest of the UK. Back on home soil I share some of my favourite spots in Queensland, Australia. We’ll also cover my top tips on board maintenance, storage and repair. And I share my experience flying with your board and great holiday destinations so stay tuned!
How to use this site
I’ve tried to keep the format fairly simple and straightforward as I tend to get off topic. Our location posts are separated into two sections depending on the depth of information you want.
In a hurry? The “Main Points” are a list of dot points that cover the details of the location in a snapshot.
Want more info? Scroll down each post to the “Wee Blether” (Scottish for a ‘small chat’) for a better insight to the location.
Join the Stand Up Paddleboarding Community
Feel free to share locations and experiences you’ve had through our social media links in the menu above. Join our email list by entering your details in the side bar. We send you a new weekly post straight to your inbox every Monday. Let’s grow the SUP community.
Our Stand Up Paddleboards
Our iSUP boards we have in Scotland have recently been updated. You can checkout the new models on the Fatstick website. I’d also like to mention that we did purchase the boards with our own money. We really love our Fatstick iSUPs but we weren’t paid to say so! If you would like to find out more about the gear we use check out our FAQ page.
Why not check out our Free Quiz?
Stay tuned, next week when we are back on the Forth and Clyde Canal at Lambhill, Scotland. Do you have a favourite SUP location that you think should be added here? Contact us on the ‘Contact’ tab and we’ll include it in a later post.
